Chart comparison
Find Similar Stock Chart Patterns
Compare the price movement you are looking at with similar historical charts, even when the ticker, date, and price level differ.
Compare shape rather than price level
Two charts can have similar movement even when one trades at 20 and the other at 200. Pattern Repeater normalizes the selected window so it can search for a comparable sequence of rises, pullbacks, consolidations, and recoveries.
This helps answer whether a worrying current chart has precedents: what did comparable completed charts look like, and what range of outcomes followed?
Timeframe is part of the comparison
A four-day move and a forty-day move can share an outline while reflecting different market behavior. Review the query and match duration beside every result. A different duration may still be informative, but it is not identical evidence.
Read comparable charts responsibly
The closest-looking chart is not necessarily the strongest evidence. Look for multiple matches, inspect outcome distributions rather than one example, and consider differences in volatility and market conditions. A high similarity score measures resemblance under the chosen method; it does not forecast the next move.
Similar Chart Patterns FAQ
Can I compare charts across stocks? Yes. Historical search can return comparable windows from other indexed securities.
Does a matching chart mean the outcome will repeat? No. Similar shapes can have very different later outcomes.
What about current matches? Their future outcome stays pending until enough time has passed.
